hey really really great post! im going to attempt camping and hitch hiking in Japan, never done it before and i feel Japan is a safe place to do it:) my only question is how did you hitch from tokyo to matsumoto ( im doing same route) did you take the train or bus to highway? which one? or did you hitch directly from Tokyo centre? cheers!
